State Rep. Dennis M. O’Brien (R-Philadelphia) issued the following statement regarding the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America:
“I would like to extend my best wishes to President Barack Obama as he assumes the awesome duties of the presidency. Our nation stands at a crossroads and we, not as Democrats and not as Republicans, but as Americans, need to join hands to ensure nothing less than success on the part of our new commander-in-chief.”
“It is my hope that the president finds time to join me in my fight for those individuals living with Autism and other developmental and learning disabilities. One out of every 150 children born in the United States today is born with autism. That number is startling and we owe it to these families, out of compassion for our fellow Americans, to do everything in our power as public servants to nationalize the fight we started right here in Pennsylvania.”
“Again, I wish the new president and his beautiful family much success in the days, months and years to come.”
