Area residents are invited to participate in the annual Healthy Kids Day hosted by Rep. Dennis O’Brien (R-Philadelphia) and the Northeast Family YMCA. 

“This is a fun and informative event for parents and children,” said O’Brien.  “Issues such as childhood obesity and bullying continue to plague our youth.  While enjoying quality time together, I hope families can walk away from Healthy Kids Day with valuable information on these and other topics that influence a child’s well being.” 

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m on Saturday, April 17, at the Northeast Family YMCA, 11088 Knights Road. 

All ages are welcome to attend the event, which will feature games, activities, tips by professionals, information, refreshments and much more.  Individuals do not need to be a member of the YMCA and the event is free to attend. 

Among the organizations scheduled to be on hand and answer questions will be the Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia Department of Recreation, Fire Fighters Union Local 22, Phillies Baseball Club, Philadelphia Department of Human Services, and the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General.
